Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager

Location: Palmyra, NJ (On-site)

Adecco is partnering with a leading organization to hire an Environmental, Health & Safety (EHS) Manager for its facility in Palmyra, NJ. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, and delivering measurable improvements in EHS performance.

What you will do

• Lead and continuously improve site EHS programs, policies, and procedures aligned to OSHA, EPA, and applicable New Jersey regulations.
• Conduct risk assessments (JHAs, hazard analyses), implement controls, and verify effectiveness through audits and inspections.
• Own incident management from initial response through investigation, root cause analysis (5-Why, Fishbone), corrective actions, and prevention planning.
• Develop, deliver, and track EHS training (new hire onboarding, annual refreshers, toolbox talks, and contractor orientations).
• Maintain EHS documentation and compliance records, including OSHA logs, training matrices, SDS management, permits, and required reporting.
• Partner with operations and maintenance to improve LOTO, machine guarding, electrical safety, ergonomics, and safe work practices.
• Establish strong contractor safety practices including prequalification, work permits, field oversight, and compliance tracking.
• Support environmental compliance activities as applicable (waste management, spill prevention, stormwater, air, and wastewater requirements).
• Track and report KPIs (TRIR, DART, near-miss reporting, corrective action closure rates) and present trends and action plans to leadership.
• Support internal and external audits and drive timely closure of findings.

What we are looking for

Required qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Safety, Environmental Science, Industrial Hygiene, Engineering, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
• 5+ years of EHS experience in a regulated environment such as manufacturing, distribution, construction, or similar.
• Working knowledge of OSHA standards and proven experience implementing safety programs.
• Strong investigation skills and the ability to drive corrective actions through completion.
• Effective communication skills with the ability to influence frontline teams and leadership.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office and EHS reporting/tracking tools.

Preferred qualifications

• CSP, ASP, CHST, or similar certification.
• Experience with ISO 45001 and/or ISO 14001.
• Environmental compliance exposure (hazardous/non-hazardous waste, SPCC, stormwater, permitting).
• Experience leading safety committees and delivering training across hourly work forces.
• Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus (depending on workforce needs).

Work environment and schedule

• On-site role in Palmyra, NJ
• Schedule:
  
  Full-time, standard business hours with flexibility to support operations
• Occasional off-hours support may be needed during incidents, audits, or special projects
