Pay Rate: $56.65 per hour.
Position OverviewAssesses, evaluates patients to determine appropriate treatment plan. Plans and provides physical therapy treatment. Documents all aspects of physical therapy services in a timely and effective manner. Engages in professional development of self and staff. Performs other duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements- Education: Graduation from an accredited physical therapy school or education approved by the NJ State Board of Physical Therapy Examiners.
- Experience: One year of experience preferred with patient populations specific to the position (e.g., acute adult inpatient, adult outpatient, pediatric).
- Other Credentials: AHA Heartsaver AED, Physical Therapist License.

Education:
2 hours of stroke related Continuing Education contact hours annually if working in an acute care setting. - Knowledge and
Skills:
Excellent verbal and written communication skills; strong attention to detail; knowledge of and ability to use computer or typewriter keyboard.
- Gathers and synthesizes data from patient/family, patient records, direct observation, and other health care providers.
- Uses appropriate and thorough evaluation techniques and standardized testing as needed.
- Works within the Scope of Services policy for Physical Therapy.
- Develops treatment plans and establishes measurable goals for patients. Implements treatment plan utilizing appropriate procedures, modalities, exercise programs, and manual techniques.
- Instructs patients, families, and other caregivers in therapies and activities to improve function, facilitate discharge, and maximize carry‑over of home instructions.
- Coordinates care with physicians, nurses, case managers, and other CH interdisciplinary team members. Coordinates with external providers as needed.
- Ensures documentation is timely and complete, including attendance/charging records, and accurately reflects patient encounters.
- Participates in educational opportunities and self‑directed learning.
- Participates in committees, special projects, performance improvement activities, and community presentations.
- Demonstrates willingness to adapt to changing departmental demands and may shift among campuses as required.
Frequent physical demands: standing, walking, fine motor activities.
Occasional physical demands: sitting, climbing stairs or ladders, carrying objects, pushing or pulling, twisting, bending, reaching forward or overhead, squatting/kneeling/crawling, wrist position deviation, keyboard use/repetitive motion.
Continuous physical demands: talking or hearing.
Lifting: floor to waist 20 lbs, waist level and above 50 lbs.
Sensory requirements: accurate near and far vision, color discrimination, minimal depth perception, accurate hearing.
Occupational exposure risks: blood borne pathogens, chemicals, airborne communicable disease, uneven surfaces or elevations, dust or particulate matter.
