The project focuses on the transition to 5G-Advanced and 6G networks, exploring innovative solutions based on cloud-native technologies and the latest platforms available to orchestrate and manage networks running in the cloud. Specifically, the research assignment will address several aspects, including: analyzing technologies for creating a cloud-ready orchestration platform; designing a management and orchestration framework based on cloud-native technologies and Kubernetes container orchestration with intent-based automation for intelligent management of Radio Access Network (RAN) resources;
developing scalable and automated solutions for orchestrating virtualized network functions within the Open RAN architecture; and lifecycle management, dynamic orchestration, and resource optimization in disaggregated Open RAN networks.
