The project focuses on the synthesis of new organic and organometallic chemiluminescent compounds inspired by the regenerative chemiluminescence platform developed within the ERC Bio Powered
CL project. Some of these luminophores are already under advanced investigation in the group, and this work aims to modify their structures to introduce standard bioconjugatable functionalities such as activated carboxylic acids, azides, and isocyanates. The compounds will be characterized using standard techniques (NMR, XRD, MS) and thoroughly studied from a photophysical and electrochemical perspective, with particular attention to their chemiluminescent properties.
Finally, the optimized luminophores will be tested as prototypes in ELISA/CLIA immunoassays.
