The post-doctoral researcher will develop advanced metallic alloys through thermodynamic simulations and additive manufacturing processes, investigating phase evolution, microstructural stability, and solidification behavior. The activities will include microstructural, physico-chemical, and mechanical characterization, analysis of damage mechanisms, and optimization of post-process heat treatments. In the field of functional materials, the candidate will contribute to the design of new shape memory alloys with enhanced elastocaloric performance, developed both through conventional methods and additive manufacturing to produce complex components for solid-state refrigeration systems.
Finally, the researcher will be involved in developing processes for the recovery and valorization of critical raw materials from waste and industrial scraps.
Oral test aimed at ascertaining candidates’ aptitude and suitability to carry out the activity covered by the contract, as well as at assessing their knowledge of English and/or other languages relevant to the activities to be performed (up to 55 points)
Relevance and pertinence of the enclosed publications to the activity covered by the contract (up to 15 points)
Relevance and pertinence of previous research activities, previous collaborations to educational and third mission activities and work experience, if any, in relation to the activity covered by the contract (up to 15 points)
Relevance and pertinence of their study programme to the activities covered by the contract (up to 15 points)
