The purpose of FBK’s Tenure Track program is to offer high-level professionals the opportunity to pursue a structured career path to become tenured researchers contributing to the long-term strategy of the organization. Within this framework, the PMG Unit of FBK-SD is seeking a dynamic and independent researcher in Ethics, Societal Impact, the Anthropology of emerging technologies and Strategic Science Communication, with proven experience in qualitative research, interdisciplinary collaboration with STEM fields, public engagement, and analysis of the societal implications of scientific and technological innovation.
The selected candidate will contribute to the Center’s strategic mission by bridging fundamental and applied research with human and social perspectives.
Their work will include conducting research on cultural, ethical, and societal dimensions of technologies developed at FBK-SD; supporting dissemination and communication activities; enhancing cross-center collaboration; and contributing to strategic planning and training activities. Their research approach will be aligned with international best practices of Technology Assessment and Responsible Research & Innovation (RRI). The goal is to integrate humanistic research into technological development, increasing the Center’s capacity to anticipate societal needs and foster responsible innovation.
The selected candidate will collaborate with physicists, engineers, scientists, and other interdisciplinary teams across FBK and external partners. They will also take part in dissemination activities, project acquisition, coordination of events, and development of strategic initiatives for the Center.
