The candidate will work on the GIGANU project, which extends the ENUBET monitored neutrino-beam concept by enabling event-by-event identification of parent pions and forward muons from two-body decays. This requires state-of-the-art silicon trackers with extreme time resolution, high spatial granularity, and operation in high-fluence environments with magnetic fields. The candidate will simulate particle transport in these conditions using and extending the ENUBET beamline model, and will determine the minimal detector requirements—surface, timing, and spatial resolution—to isolate individual decays with an acceptable level of random coincidences, taking into account realistic constraints for the silicon‑detector trackers under study.
Requirementsand Evaluation Criteria
- Previous research experiences at PhD level or other post‑doctoral contracts
- Experience/aptitude in using complex simulation software
