The work involves extending Catalytic
FOAM, a reactive CFD framework, for photoelectrocatalysis (PEC) applications. The activity will include integrating light effects into the CFD model by solving the radiation transport equation (RTE) and implementing light attenuation across different materials according to the Lambert–Beer law, thus enabling an accurate description of PEC device behavior. In parallel, the coupling between kMC and CFD simulations will be achieved through machine learning models developed as surrogates for the computationally expensive KMC simulations.
The existing workflow will be extended to include the additional photo(electro) chemical variables.
