This is a 13-week contract position.

Full Time - 3x12s, day or night shifts as needed by schedule, including every other weekend, holiday, and 2 on-call shifts per 4 weeks.

The Registered Nurse applies knowledge of nursing theory, technical, and communication skills in delivering high-quality compassionate care to patients and families. The RN assesses patient needs, develops a plan of care in collaboration with the interdisciplinary team, provides direct care, evaluates patient progress, and coordinates care delivery throughout the patient’s episode. The Med/Surg RN develops specialized skills in cardiac care, including telemetry monitoring.

The RN is accountable for educating patients and families to assist them in understanding self-care beyond hospitalization, including lifestyle changes that support health and healing.

• Assess patient and family needs through active listening and observation.
• Create individualized plans of care in collaboration with the patient, family, and healthcare team.
• Evaluate quality and effectiveness of nursing practice and initiate changes based on outcomes.
• Document education provided to patients and families regarding care and self-management.
• Engage in self-evaluation and professional development to enhance nursing practice.
• Promote a healing environment by fostering trust and cooperation among team members.
• Comply with infection prevention strategies and maintain competencies in assigned patient populations.

• NYS RN Licensure Required.
• Certifications:
  
  BLS, ACLS.
• One (1) year experience serving in a Med/Surg environment as a Registered Nurse is required.
