Technology & Data plays a critical role in enabling the organisation to deliver effective, risk‑based regulations. The division provides secure, reliable infrastructure, data and applications that support high levels of user productivity, industry engagement and operational efficiency. Within Technology & Data, Infrastructure Operations works closely with Service Desk, Development, Data, Application Support and Cyber Security to deliver modern, resilient and compliant technology services.

Role:
Lead Infrastructure Engineer (35 Hours Per week/ Permanent)

The Lead Infrastructure Engineer will be a technical lead for the on‑premises and Azure cloud platforms, ensuring that core systems are secure, reliable, and performant. The role will design, implement, and support infrastructure services that enable the regulator to operate effectively, meet regulatory obligations, and respond to emerging risks. You may be expected to lead and manage a team of infrastructure analysts and the person in this role will report to the Senior Manager – Service Delivery who leads the Infrastructure and Service Desk teams.

This position combines hands‑on engineering with technical leadership, problem solving and close collaboration with internal stakeholders and external suppliers.

The successful candidate will deliver the following outcomes:
  • · Deliver stable, secure, and high available infrastructure to ensure business continuity and protects organisational data
  • · Lead the design and implementation of Azure solutions to enable future‑ready cloud architecture that supports innovation and growth.
  • · Plan and execute cloud migration and modernisation initiatives to reduce legacy system risks and position the organisation for digital transformation.
  • · Implement and maintain Infrastructure as Code to improve consistency, automation, and repeatability.
  • · Proactively monitor, troubleshoot and optimise infrastructure services to improve system performance and reduce incidents.
  • · Work closely with Cyber Security and risk teams to ensure infrastructure designs and operations meet security, compliance, audit and data protection expectations.
  • · Manage and oversee third‑party suppliers to ensure vendor accountability, cost control and quality of service to our colleagues.
  • · Actively contribute to and maintain technical documentation to provide clear reference materials for continuity, knowledge sharing, and compliance audits, reducing dependency on individuals.
  • · Develop, lead and manage a team of infrastructure analysts by providing direction, clarity, and motivation, ensuring alignment with organisational goals and driving high‑performing teams.

Contributing your technical expertise to position the JFSC as a leading digital regulator. Our internal staff and industry customers rely solely on the infrastructure and computer systems provided by the JFSC Technology & Data Team. It is pivotal that all systems are available, secure and running at an optimal speed and your role is essentially responsible for this. Your ability to lead cloud migration projects, implement Infrastructure as Code, and ensure security and compliance will be critical to delivering reliable, scalable, and cost‑effective solutions.

Strong collaboration skills, technical leadership, and the ability to manage team members will enable you to foster a high-performing, innovative culture.
