Your main goal

Take full ownership of n8n’s end-to-end accounting operations and build a scalable, automated, and globally compliant finance foundation that supports our hyper-growth.

Responsibilities Core Accounting Operations

• Lead the in sourcing of accounting activities to build an internal, scalable accounting foundation.
• Own the full accounting cycle — from AP/AR to GL, assets, accruals, and deferrals — ensuring fast, accurate monthly closes.
• Prepare monthly and annual financial statements under HGB and coordinate with tax advisors on filings, audits, and statutory reporting.

Treasury, Payroll & Financial Controls

• Oversee vendor payments, bank reconciliations, and financial control checks to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Review employee reimbursements and partner with People Ops and our payroll provider to ensure correct, timely payroll.
• Maintain short- and mid-term cash visibility and support ongoing treasury forecasting.

Group Accounting & International Operations

• Contribute to consolidation and reporting across our international entities with consistent accounting treatment.
• Develop and document intercompany processes, including cross-charges and transfer-pricing workflows.
• Support multi-currency operations through accurate FX accounting and reporting.

Tax & Compliance

• Coordinate VAT/GST filings across jurisdictions and maintain audit-ready compliance documentation.
• Support global tax registrations and ensure timely compliance as we enter new markets.
• Maintain organized, documented processes for all statutory and compliance workflows.

Finance Projects & Automation

• Evaluate and implement modern accounting tools to build a highly automated finance tech stack.
• Identify automation opportunities to streamline accounting workflows and improve accuracy and efficiency.
• Maintain clear finance documentation to support onboarding, scalability, and continuous improvement.

Requirements Must-haves

• 📚 Extensive Accounting
  
  Experience:
  
  7+ years in accounting within a fast-paced, high-growth tech or SaaS company.
• 💼 SaaS Model Expertise:
  Understand recurring revenue, billing models, and revenue recognition nuances.
• 📘 German GAAP & Tax Knowledge:
  Strong HGB expertise and hands-on experience preparing financial statements.
• 🌍 International Accounting Exposure:
  Experience with multi-entity structures, intercompany processes, and consolidations.
• 🛠️ Modern Tooling Proficiency:
  Comfortable with systems like DATEV, Net Suite, and AP/AR automation tools.
• 🔍 Compliance Knowledge:
  Understand VAT/GST, transfer pricing, and statutory reporting.
• 🔢 Analytical & Detail-Oriented:
  Spot issues early, communicate clearly, and deliver reliable…
