The Controls Commissioning Engineer will be responsible for the design, implementation, commissioning and support of controls systems for material handling and automation projects, working both on-site and remotely.#

Qualifications:

** Key Responsibilities
*** Design and deliver the
** controls aspects of material handling systems
** for Dematic Enhancement, Modernisation and Upgrade projects, in line with specifications, timelines and budgets.
* Develop, implement and support
** hardware and software solutions**, including controls design, PLC software and commissioning activities.
* Provide
** end-to-end controls solutions**, covering electrical design, software design and on-site commissioning.
* Work effectively on
** live customer sites**, ensuring minimal disruption to operations while respecting project scope and safety standards.
* Support fault finding, system investigations and
** controls troubleshooting
** when required.
* Perform
** site supervisory duties
** on controls projects when necessary.
* Support the
** Sales team
** with controls-related cost estimates, design concepts and spare parts recommendations.
* Maintain Dematic’s image as a
** high-quality, professional organisation**, adopting an honest, proactive and customer-focused approach.##
** Requirements & Qualifications
*** Education to a minimum of
** HNC/HND in Electrical Engineering
** or a related discipline.
* Hands-on experience in a similar role within an
** automation-based industry**, ideally in automated warehouse or intralogistics environments.
* Advanced knowledge of
** PLCs** (Siemens and/or Allen Bradley).
* Strong understanding of
** fieldbus systems and I/O equipment** (e.g. Profibus, Profinet, ASi, TCP/IP).
* Advanced understanding of controls-related equipment such as
** barcode scanners, HMIs and variable frequency drives**.
* Working knowledge of
** industry standards**, including the
** Machinery Directive
** and compliance requirements.
* Experience with
** CAD tools** (AutoCAD, EPLAN) –
* AutoCAD considered a nice to have*.
* Confident user of
** Microsoft Office tools** (Word, Excel, Project, Outlook).##
** Travel & Availability**
* ** Up to 75% travel within Italy
** is required, depending on project needs.
* ** On-call availability
** may be required when necessary, with a maximum of
** one week per month**.
