Position: Instrumental Music Instructor (Guitar) - Various Schools
Location: Easter Howgate

Overview

Instrumental Music Instructor (Guitar) – Various Schools, Edinburgh. Salary: £36,687-£48,762 (pro‑rata for part‑time).

Hours:

7.70 per week (0.22 FTE).

This is an exciting opportunity to teach guitar lessons in various schools across Edinburgh, and be part of a dynamic and friendly music service. We are looking for a highly skilled Instrumental Music Instructor who is passionate and driven, to provide excellent learning experiences for all pupils.

Responsibilities
  • Teach guitar lessons to pupils across a range of schools.
  • Prepare pupils for SQA and external exams.
  • Work with groups and ensembles.
  • Maintain sound knowledge of the current curriculum.
  • Deliver excellent learning experiences for all pupils.
Qualifications
  • Experience in instrumental teaching.
  • Sound knowledge of the current music curriculum.
  • Experience preparing pupils for SQA and external exams.
  • Experience working with groups and ensembles.
Pre‑employment Checks
  • Regulated work with children and/or protected adults – must join PVG Scheme or undergo PVG update check.
  • If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out of the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
  • Offer is conditional upon satisfactory outcome of these checks.
