Liberton High School is a non-denominational secondary school with a roll of approximately 900 pupils, working in partnership with associated primaries to serve our local community in South East Edinburgh. The school is moving into a new Community Campus due to be completed in Summer 2026.

We are looking for a creative and innovative individual who will be able to apply their skills, knowledge and experience to support our pupils to achieve success within our English and Media Faculty as a teacher of English. You will be encouraged to add your existing skills and experience to our team, and to introduce new ideas and strategies appropriate to our learners.

Lead the delivery of high-quality English teaching, contribute to curriculum development, support learners to reach their potential, and participate in wider school life as appropriate.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outwith the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

An unconditional offer of employment is subject to satisfactory outcomes of these pre-employment checks.

Salaries will be in accordance with the Scheme of Salaries and Conditions of Service for Teaching Staff in School Education.
