Salary: £33,287 - £39,129 (pro‑rate for part‑time & sessional)
Hours:
36 per week, 39 weeks
Part‑time & Job share will be considered.
This position is part of the Deaf Support Team. The BSL tutor will:
Responsibilities- Teach BSL in educational establishments and to families.
- Provide training, create and deliver courses for parents and staff in BSL.
Applicants must have experience teaching BSL to adults and working/engaging effectively with families and their deaf children. They must possess fluent BSL skills to SCQF 8 or above, or equivalent.
Application ProcessShortlisted candidates will be required to provide a sample lesson plan as part of a writing assessment before the interview. A reading assessment and BSL skills test will also be required as part of the in‑person interview.

Pre‑Employment ChecksRegulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will need to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. If an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more outside the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.
An unconditional offer and commencement in the post will be subject to satisfactory outcomes of both checks.

Salary InformationOur salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
