Salary: £29,173 - £33,287 (pro rata for part time and sessional)

Hours:

18 per week, 39 weeks sessional

Calderglen Early Learning & Childcare is a large, busy setting, with capacity for 64 children at any one time, with various patterns of attendance between 8am and 6pm, term time and 52 weeks per year. Our setting has a friendly team who are supportive, energetic and passionate, following a Froebelian approach. We promote curiosity, exploration and challenge through natural, warm and welcoming resources and spaces.

The nursery benefits from a rich social and cultural mix of families and its diversity is one of its main strengths. A highly skilled, dynamic and motivated staff team support the children and families.

We are now recruiting an experienced Early Years Practitioner to join our team on a permanent basis. The successful candidate will be passionate about supporting children to be, confident, capable individuals and helping them to achieve their full potential. Our practitioners will be highly skilled at enhancing children's learning and development, understand their role in supporting children to lead their own learning and will be enthusiastic about creating meaningful experiences and spaces.

They will be an effective team member who contributes to the ethos and values of our setting through good communication and professional discussion, using their training and knowledge to demonstrate their enthusiasm for Early Years.

The successful candidate will be required to work 18 hours per week Wednesday PM and full days Thursday & Friday. Please note that shift patterns are worked within the setting between the hours of 0745hrs and 1800hrs, Monday - Friday, with some late shifts on rotation, within each month.

This post is regulated work with children and/or protected adults under the Protection of Vulnerable Groups (Scotland) Act 2007. The preferred candidate will be required to join the PVG Scheme or undergo a PVG Scheme update check. Where an individual has spent a continuous period of 3 months or more out with the UK in the last 5 years, an Overseas Criminal Record Check will be required.

You will be required to provide this check. An unconditional offer of employment and commencement in the post will be subject to the outcome of both these pre-employment checks being deemed satisfactory.

Our salary range typically reflects the initial starting salary and annually increases until it reaches the top of the range.
