Institution Registered Nurse (Pendleton) - Part Time Opportunity — Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution, Pendleton, Oregon. Oregon Department of Corrections.

This position is part-time. Pay listed above is for a full-time employee; salary would range by hours worked.

Responsibilities

Your primary responsibility is to provide health care services to individuals living in ODOC correctional facilities. Primary tasks include:

  • Direct Patient Care: nursing assessment, diagnosis, care planning, medication administration, laboratory/medical procedures, and treatment provision in accordance with ODOC policies, procedures, protocols, provider orders, and evidence-based standards of care.
  • Coordination of Care: arrange on-site and community-based services to ensure optimal patient health outcomes.
  • Communication: provide comprehensive patient education and serve as a resource for non-medical staff; advocate for patient care needs in a timely manner within the correctional setting.
  • Documentation: maintain accurate, legible, and complete records of patient care; document requests for medical attention, data collected, treatment provided, evaluation of effectiveness, and patient education.
  • Administrative: coordinate nursing care activities with other departments; assume unit operations in the absence of management; monitor medical supplies and ensure secure storage, including narcotics, needles, and syringes.

This position is represented by AFSCME. May be eligible for Police & Fire (P&F) benefits through PERS, as defined by statute.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Valid Oregon Registered Professional Nurse license at the time of appointment.
  • Preference given to candidates with an unencumbered license.
  • Note:

    Agency may require training or experience in a specialized area of nursing at recruitment.
