Patient Population

• Cardiac surgery and general ICU patients
• Average daily census:
  • ~1 immediate post–cardiac surgery patient
  • ~12 general Med-Surg ICU patients

Common Diagnoses / Procedures

• CABG
• Mitral, Aortic, and Tricuspid Valve Replacements
• AAA Repairs

Providers

• 1 Cardiothoracic Surgeon
• 1 Cardiothoracic Surgery PA

Required Experience & Skills

• Recent and proficient experience in immediate post-operative cardiac surgery recovery
• Experience with the following preferred but not required:
  • IABP
  • CRRT
  • ECMO

Certifications Required

• BLS
• ACLS
• NIHSS

Charting / EMR

• Cerner

Scheduling & Shifts

• 12-hour shifts
• Weekend requirement:
  Every other weekend (Friday–Saturday–Sunday)

  Yes (first to float)

Orientation
