Oregon Department of Corrections is hiring a full-time Nurse Practitioner located at the Eastern Oregon Correctional Institution (EOCI) in Pendleton.
Your RoleProvide on-site care within a secure correctional facility medical unit. This role offers flexible scheduling and the opportunity to oversee treatment without the pressures of billing or insurance. We see and treat all medical specialties, including post-operative care following hospital visits. This position emphasizes professional continuity of care and meaningful impact.
ResponsibilitiesEvaluate patients through physical examinations and diagnostic testing, including assessment of the heart, lungs, and gastrointestinal system. Identify signs of disease, organ enlargement, and other health issues. Perform venipuncture as needed, order and interpret laboratory studies, and develop/execute complete patient treatment plans as primary provider. Treat infections, sprains, simple fractures, and suturing of non-major wounds. Suggest dietary supplements and non-prescription medicines;
prescribe antibiotics and other medications as authorized. Refer complex cases to physicians or specialists; collaborate with physicians on diagnosis and care management. Train nurses and health staff, extend clinic assessments, and oversee treatments administered by supervised staff. Explain medical information to patients and families.
Minimum Qualifications: A current Nurse Practitioner license and a Registered Nurse license issued by the Oregon State Board of Nursing.

Paid vacation and sick leave accrued monthly; wage increases per applicable labor contract. Eligible for AFSCME representation; PERS benefits may apply.
Incentives- 5% for bilingual ability

- Swing shift – $3.92/hour
- Night shift – $5/hour
- Weekend shift – $5/hour
