Lead Enterprise Laboratory Quality & Compliance

Interpath Laboratory is seeking an experienced executive leader to oversee our enterprise-wide Quality Management System (QMS) and regulatory compliance program across all laboratory operations. You will be joining our leadership team at Interpath's Headquarters in Pendleton, OR.

Interpath prides itself on being change agents, willing to take calculated risks for "monumental" changes in the cost and delivery of healthcare. Performing over 2.7 million tests each month, this family owned and operated clinical and anatomic pathology laboratory has grown to become the largest, independent laboratory in the Northwest. This growth is embodied by dedicated individuals instilling a culture of operational excellence, accountability, and innovation - driving us to make a lasting impact on people's lives.

As the Chief Quality and Compliance Officer you will serve as the organization’s primary authority on laboratory regulatory matters and ensure full compliance with CLIA, CAP, HIPAA, OSHA, and applicable federal and state requirements while driving continuous quality improvement and operational excellence. This is an exempt position, with a starting salary of $100,000 (more DOE).

Key Responsibilities
  • Lead and supervise the Laboratory Quality Department and off-site compliance teams
  • Design and maintain a comprehensive enterprise-wide QMS
  • Direct accreditation readiness, inspection preparation, and internal audits
  • Oversee quality assurance, proficiency testing, corrective action, and risk mitigation
  • Serve as Laboratory Safety Officer
  • Monitor quality metrics, productivity, and cost performance
  • Provide executive-level reporting on quality and regulatory performance
  • Identify opportunities to leverage automation and AI to improve quality analytics and workflow
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Medical Laboratory Science or related field (required); advanced degree preferred
  • ASCP certification required
  • Extensive experience in clinical laboratory quality systems and regulatory compliance
  • Demonstrated success managing CAP/CLIA accreditation and inspection readiness
  • Strong leadership, analytical, financial, and executive communication skills
  • Must be authorized to work in the United States without employer visa sponsorship
