Logistics Manager
Commodities Trading | Singapore
A well-established and fast-growing Singapore-based commodities trading company is seeking an experienced Logistics Manager to support and scale its regional and international trading operations.
This role is critical to ensuring the smooth execution of end-to-end physical commodities flows, working closely with traders, counter parties, shipping lines, inspectors, and internal stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities- Manage end-to-end logistics execution for physical commodities, from contract to final delivery.
- Coordinate with traders, operations, suppliers, customers, shipping lines, surveyors, and port agents.
- Oversee vessel nominations, shipping schedules, chartering coordination, and cargo documentation.
- Ensure accurate and timely preparation of shipping, customs, and trade documentation (BL, invoices, packing lists, COO, etc.).
- Monitor and manage logistics costs, demurrage, laytime, and claims.
- Work closely with finance and trade finance teams to support LC, document presentation, and payment cycles.
- Ensure compliance with contractual terms, Incoterms, regulatory requirements, and internal controls.
- Identify and implement process improvements to enhance operational efficiency and risk management.
- Support regional logistics activities across Asia and international trade routes.
- Minimum 5–10 years of logistics / operations experience within a commodities trading house, shipping company, or trading arm.
- Strong hands‑on experience in physical commodities logistics (e.g. energy, metals, agri, bulk or soft commodities).
- Solid understanding of Incoterms, shipping terms, trade documentation, and port operations.
- Proven experience handling vessels, bulk shipments, or containerised cargo.
- Familiarity with demurrage, laytime calculations, and claims management.
- Ability to work closely with traders in a fast‑paced, P&L‑driven environment.
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and problem‑solving ability.
- Proficient in Chinese, able to talk to Chinese shipowners.
