We are delighted to offer an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Quality and Clinical Governance Lead at Ty Hafan. This is a maternity cover position for an initial sixmonth period, with the potential for extension.
Reporting to the Director of Nursing and Clinical Services, the successful candidate will be responsible for leading on clinical governance, ensuring effective and sustainable quality assurance and governance systems are in place and embedded across Ty Hafans Care Services.
The postholder will be directly responsible for reviewing and analysing outputs from audit and risk assessments, and for the creation, oversight, and coordination of quality improvement plans. Working alongside the Care Senior Management team, they will also be responsible for monitoring clinical governance and compliance and provide assurance that statutory responsibilities are fulfilled.

Main duties of the jobWe are looking for an experienced healthcare leader who has the experience and drive to deliver high quality, safe, and patient centred care.
As the ideal candidate you will have experience managing clinical governance activity, patient safety and quality within health services, alongside proven capability in effective risk management. You'll be confident shaping and delivering projects, change initiatives and measurable service improvements, while ensuring compliance with statutory and regulatory requirements and working directly with regulatory bodies. You will also bring experience in clinical audits and using clinical systems such as care databases.
You will be highly proficient in IT, including the Microsoft 365 suite, and open to learning new technologies as our systems evolve. With excellent written and verbal communication skills, you'll communicate with clarity, diplomacy and sensitivity at all levels. You'll be an agile problem solver, able to respond confidently to sudden or unexpected demands, and you'll bring strong organisational skills, a flexible approach and a positive, can-do attitude that helps you manage shifting and diverse priorities.

Job responsibilities- Develop, deliver, and maintain a robust and integrated clinical governance, framework that embeds quality, safety, and risk into all aspects of current and future care services.
- Chair or support relevant governance meetings, to include attendance and input into the Clinical Governance Committee, Quality Improvement meeting, Clinical Risk Management Group, and Executive Governance and Risk Meetings. Ensuring timely comprehensive reporting on all Clinical Governance Activity.
- Facilitate investigation of all reported incidents and complaints, including the gathering of complex and sensitive information from those involved; writing reports and tracking associated actions; ensuring the appropriate learning and disciplinary actions are actioned.
- Escalate serious, or potentially serious incidents or complaints in a timely and transparent manner, advising on investigative procedures and HIW reporting responsibilities.
- Ensure robust monitoring and trend reporting of all incidents, accidents and near misses, ensuring learning is taken forward and embedded.
- Lead the development of an overall strategic framework for service user safety, to include the management of medical facilities and equipment, the prompt review and actioning of medical and catering alerts, and the timely review of allocated policies and procedures.
