Pastoral Team Member Group Ministry

Job Summary

Being part of the ministry team, you will provide pastoral and executive support to the congregation of Wesley Methodist Church. You will collaborate with the Pastor‑in‑Charge and the Small Group Ministry (SGM) team to steer, direct, grow, and develop the ministry in alignment with the Church’s strategic direction.

• Lead and support the leadership team and Chairperson in delivering spiritual and ministry leadership within the Small Group Ministry, including planning and executing key ministry events that engage the congregation.
• Provide pastoral care and spiritual guidance to assigned zones by supporting zone leaders in fostering community and spiritual growth.
• Direct and support the Flowering Strategy Team, SGM Prayer team, and SGM Communications team to enhance ministry effectiveness and outreach.
• Coordinate with congregational staff to ensure smooth operation of weekend and special services, contributing to meaningful worship experiences.
• Collaborate with ministry teams to implement initiatives that align with the Church’s vision and strategic goals.
• Adapt to dynamic ministry needs by taking on additional roles, responsibilities, and activities as assigned by the Church leadership.
• Demonstrate a servant leadership approach by supporting church members, committee members, volunteers, and staff with empathy and dedication.
• Communicate effectively to build strong relationships within the ministry and foster a collaborative environment.
• Analyze ministry data and information to identify trends and insights that inform strategic decision‑making and continuous improvement.
• Apply creative thinking to develop innovative ministry approaches and connect diverse ideas to enhance ministry impact.
• Manage resources efficiently to maximize ministry outcomes and sustain operational effectiveness.
• Model and promote a culture of service excellence by leading, training, and motivating others to achieve high performance.
• Develop and mentor individuals to enhance their spiritual growth and ministry capabilities.
• Inspire and guide teams by fostering an inclusive, cooperative environment that encourages teamwork and leadership development.
• Exhibit commitment by willingly going beyond expectations to support the ministry’s mission and goals.

• Relevant theological qualifications (e.g., MDiv) and/or experience in similar ministry roles.
• At least 3-5 years of experience working in a church or Christian organization
• Ability and willingness to work non‑traditional schedules which includes evenings, public holidays and weekends
• A mature Christian who can relate to people and families, and on a pastoral level be able to assist/guide them through issues, such as conflicts and mentoring
• Love and fear of God, and a genuine concern for people
• A team player
