Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical)
An exciting opportunity to join the Capital, Estates & Facilities Department at Cardiff & Vale University Health Board as a Maintenance Engineer (Mechanical) to support the Estates Operational Teams in the Day to Day Operational Maintenance of the UHB Estate.
We are seeking an experienced and enthusiastic individual from a Mechanical engineering/Plumbing background to support the continual service provision of one of the largest Health Boards in Wales. The department is going through an exciting time of Service Improvement to increase the support and enhance the patient experience ensuring the department is fit for the future.
Responsibilities- Perform work including activities which are complex and/or non-routine.
- Responsible for calibration and fault finding on a wide range of engineering plant and equipment such as:
- Hot and Cold-Water Systems
- Low Pressure Hot Water Systems
- Steam Raising Plant and associated equipment
- Steam Sterilizers
- Medical Gas Pipe Systems
- Ventilation Systems
- Hydrotherapy Pools
- All water sampling and testing
- Plumbing works and water compliance testing
- Working within the Mechanical Team to provide a safe, well maintained water system, working towards set standards for water systems and environment.
- Undertake planned maintenance, reactive repairs, minor improvements and support other trades and discretionary capital work across the UHB as directed by management.
- Ensure compliance with UHB safety standards and procedures at all times.
- Provide multi-skilled engineering expertise across various Mechanical equipment and fabric.
The ability to speak Welsh is desirable for this post;
