Senior Portfolio Manager​/Senior Equity Analyst – Japanese Equities; Long

We are a Singapore-based fund manager investing in Japanese equities with a long-only, engagement strategy. We proactively engage with our portfolio companies and, as committed shareholders, work to create long-term value for the companies, all stakeholders, and shareholders.

We are seeking a senior Japanese equities analyst to help manage a Japanese equity portfolio. This senior role combines fundamental research and active engagement responsibilities. The ideal candidate is an experienced investor with a proven track record in long-only Japanese equities, demonstrated commitment to value investing and shareholder engagement principles, as well as significant experience in interacting with the management teams of listed Japanese companies.

• Manage long-only Japanese equity portfolio positions in line with the firm’s engagement-focused investment philosophy.
• Identify companies trading below intrinsic value and develop investment strategies.
• Monitor portfolio position performance, risk, and compliance with internal and regulatory guidelines.
• Regularly visit Japanese portfolio companies to engage with management and facilitate shareholder discussions to support positive, value-enhancing change.

• 15-20+ years of experience managing Japanese equity portfolios or as a Japanese equities analyst.
• Strong fundamental research skills with demonstrated ability to identify undervalued companies and develop an engagement agenda
• Deep knowledge of Japanese corporate governance, accounting, market structures, and culture.
• Licensed certification from the Securities Analysts Association of Japan and CFA charter holders are highly desirable.
• Fluency in business level Japanese is mandatory, with fluency in English a big plus.
