Job Description:

Wind Gap Middle School is seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Reading Specialist to support literacy development for students in grades 4-8. The successful candidate will work collaboratively with teachers and administrators to provide targeted reading interventions, analyze student literacy data, and support the implementation of evidence-based instructional practices that improve student outcomes. This position requires strong collaboration with classroom teachers through data team meetings, instructional coaching, and professional support to ensure that all students receive high-quality literacy instruction.

The ideal candidate will demonstrate a strong understanding of evidence-based reading instruction, assessment practices, and intervention strategies appropriate for upper elementary and middle school learners. Candidates should be committed to improving student achievement and working as part of a collaborative school team focused on instructional improvement.

Salary will be in accordance with the current salary schedule. Due date for applications is March 19, 2026.

Applicants must hold a valid Pennsylvania Reading Specialist Certification

Applicants must upload the following to  Pennsylvania Standard Teaching Application, letter of interest, resume, copy of PA teaching certificate, college transcripts, three letters of recommendation, and the following forms current within one year:
Act 34 (PA Criminal History), Act 151 (PA Child Abuse History), Act 114 (FBI Fingerprint Check) and Act 82 form. Additional paperwork will be required prior to/upon hire, including but not limited to PA School Health Record with TB test, Act 168 (Disclosure for current and previous employers), and I-9.
