Financial Counselor is a Full-Time (40 hours per week) position at Pembroke Hospital, an acute care behavioral health facility located south of Boston, in Pembroke, MA.
Job DescriptionResponsible for verifying patients’ insurance coverage continuously, re-verifying daily, updating patient accounts, communicating with internal staff about insurance changes promptly, keeping the hospital informed of high medical responsibilities, delivering morning census reports, and assisting patients with eligibility for government programs. Additional responsibilities as determined by the department.

- High School Diploma or equivalent required;
Associate degree in business, finance, healthcare administration or related field preferred - Minimum of 1 year of experience in Insurance Verification, Inpatient or Outpatient facility; preference given to Inpatient Psychiatric Hospital
- Excellent interpersonal skills, professional and caring demeanor, excellent phone and customer service skills, good organizational skills, basic to moderate knowledge of insurance procedures and terminology, billing procedures and terminology, psychiatric and addictive disease diagnosis and treatment, problem solving and exercised sound time management
