The Speĺkúmtn Community Forest invites proposals from qualified independent contractors to provide forest management services for our community forest agreement in Líĺwat Territory – Pemberton/Mount Currie, BC.

We are seeking a Forest Manager to manage the SCF consistent with our governance structure, Vision, Mission and Values, the  Strategic Plan and the Goals and Objectives outlined in the SCF’s Management Plan.

The Forest Manager is responsible for all forest operations, including planning, implementation, and oversight of operational contractors. The Forest Manager will, among other things:

  • Oversee all forestry-related aspects of the CFA and operations
  • Develop and implement strategic and operational forestry plans.
  • Administer forestry contracts, budgets, and contractor compliance
  • Oversee pre- and post-harvest work such as permitting, engineering, layout, and silviculture, and operational activities including harvesting, road construction/maintenance.
  • Ensure regulatory compliance with all relevant forestry, wildfire, and environmental legislation.
  • Provide forestry-related financial forecasts, budgets, and quarterly reporting to the Board.
  • Represent the Community Forest in dealings with government agencies, industry partners, First Nations; represent and actively engage with stakeholders, and the public.
  • Liaise with the Executive Director on operational and administrative matters
