Description

Job Summary:

The Inside Sales position communicates with customers and outside sales reps and handles customer questions and complaints for window sales. Processes orders received by mail, phone, or personally from customer or outside sales reps.

Supervisory Responsibilities:

None

Essential Job Functions:

  • Functions as liaison between outside sales reps and customers to communicate any special requests, pricing needs, marketing opportunities, or unusual circumstances.
  • Sells a variety of windows such as Andersen, Pella, Renewal, Marvin and Windsor by phone, fax or in person, to contractors.
  • Account management for major clients.
  • Return and credit processing.
  • Responsible for house account sales and collection.
  • Enter orders into internal accounting system.
  • Answers questions and advises customer in selection of building materials and supplies.
  • Sells window packages including everything needed for installation and finish.
  • Coordinates customer orders for delivery or will call.
  • Communicates with other department managers on status of customer orders being pulled for will call or delivery.
  • Communicates with venders on status of customer orders when necessary.
  • Confers with production, sales, or warehouse personnel to expedite or trace missing or delayed shipments.
  • Quotes window lists via computer.
  • Manages customer inquiries, objections, questions or problems concerning billing, return goods, product or services in a timely and positive manner and recommends corrective action.
  • Portrays a professional outward sales appearance common to the industry.
  • Demonstrates good personal relations towards customers creating a win-win situation.
  • Performs other duties as required

Skills and Abilities

:

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Excellent sales and negotiation skills.
  • Thorough understanding of technical or scientific products to be sold.
  • Organized with attention to detail.
  • Proven ability to build and maintain relationships with clients.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
  • Product experience with Andersen, Pella, Renewal, Marvin or Windsor windows.
