Akkodis is seeking a Design Engineer for a Contract to Hire with a client in Pella, Iowa. You will be responsible for analyzing data and developing CAD models to optimize design opportunities and improve machine performance.
Rate Range: $30/hour to $33/hour;
The rate may be negotiable based on experience, education, geographic location, and other factors.
- Analyze data and develop CAD models to optimize design opportunities and improve product performance.
- Apply engineering principles to design, document, build, and test new solutions using CAD tools such as Solid Works.
- Produce prototype parts using Solid Works, PDMWorks, and ECN tools.
- Test design changes to enhance machine reliability and functionality.
- Collaborate in a team environment to meet project goals and timelines.
- Develop and execute test plans, review test data, and provide meaningful results for design validation.
- Bachelor’s degree in mechanical, Industrial, Agricultural, or Electrical Engineering (or equivalent education and experience).
- Typically, 3–5 years of experience in mechanical design and CAD modeling.
- Proficiency in Solid Works, PDMWorks, and ECN tools for creating and managing CAD models and prototypes.
- Strong understanding of engineering principles, material strength, fatigue analysis, and ability to develop and execute test plans for design validation.

$30.00 to $33.00 per hour
