- Pell City, AL. Department:
Emergency Department.
Schedule:
Multiple Shifts including Full-time Nights, Evenings, Days, and PRN rotating.
- Perform basic clinical and non-clinical patient care activities under supervision.
- Assist doctors, nurses, and other medical staff in implementing each patient’s plan of care in the Emergency Department by performing clinical procedures and other tasks within scope of practice.
- Assist with observation of patients gathering data and identifying patient care needs. Document patient information accurately in medical records.
- Prepare patients for examination and treatment.
- Collect specimens such as blood, urine, and stool samples for laboratory testing.
- Set up and operate medical equipment needed for patient care.
- Help with transportation of patients within the hospital.
- Document patient information accurately in medical records (duplicate note consolidated).
- Maintain cleanliness and organization within the Emergency Department, adhering to infection control standards. Replenish supplies and ensure necessary equipment is readily available.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
- BLS Provider within 1 Month (30 days) of hire date or job transfer date required. American Heart Association or American Red Cross accepted.
- Education:
High School Diploma or GED required. Completion of technician education in a specific area and specialty e.g. EMT-Basic, EMT-Paramedic, or PCT (patient care technician) preferred.
