Description

Drivers will pick up local loads within a 275-mile radius of the distribution center and return to the facility. This role may include multiple pickups per day and trailer swaps, including dropping empty trailers and hooking to loaded trailers.

Duties/Responsibilities:
  • Safely operate a heavy or tractor-trailer truck in compliance with DOT and company regulations.
  • Perform backhaul routes within a 275-mile radius.
  • Conduct trailer swaps as needed (drop and hook).
  • Accurately track and maintain required logs and documentation.
  • Inspect vehicle before and after each trip and report any mechanical or safety concerns.
  • Communicate delays, incidents, or issues promptly to dispatch.
  • Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
Requirements

Education and Experience
  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL

    A).
  • Minimum 1 year of commercial driving experience.
  • Previous experience in truck driving or related fields.
Physical Requirements

The driver must be able to safely operate a commercial motor vehicle for extended periods, including sitting for long durations while maintaining alertness and focus. The role requires frequent climbing in and out of the cab and trailers, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Drivers must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver items such as landing gear, hoses, and safety equipment weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.

The position requires the ability to perform pre- and post-trip inspections, including walking around the vehicle, checking under the trailer, and accessing engine compartments. Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities are required to safely operate the vehicle, monitor road conditions, read gauges and logs, and communicate with dispatch. The driver must be able to work in varying weather conditions, traffic environments, and lighting conditions, and meet all DOT physical qualification standards.
