Overview
The Class A CDL Shuttle Driver is responsible for safely transporting trailers between company facilities and designated domiciles on committed shuttle routes. This position operates on scheduled routes that allow drivers to be home daily, with no over-the-road travel. Drivers depart from and return to the same terminal daily and are responsible for complying with all DOT regulations and company safety policies while ensuring timely and efficient trailer movement.
Responsibilities- Safely operate a Class A commercial motor vehicle in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
- Transport trailers between Pelham, Alabama, and designated domiciles.
- Perform required pre- and post-trip inspections of tractor, trailer, and related equipment.
- Conduct damage control checks and report any issues or discrepancies.
- Immediately report safety hazards, accidents, incidents, or equipment concerns to the Transportation Supervisor.
- Maintain accurate logs and required documentation.
- Adhere to all safety guidelines, policies, and procedures.
- Maintain regular attendance and punctuality.
- Perform other related duties as assigned.
- Strong knowledge of DOT regulations and safe driving practices.
- Ability to operate commercial vehicles safely and efficiently.
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to safety.
- Ability to work independently and follow established schedules.

- Reliable attendance and punctuality.

- Education and Experience:
- High school diploma or GED required.
- Valid Class A Commercial Driver’s License (CDL) required.
- Clean Motor Vehicle Report (MVR) for the past three years.
- One year of Class A CDL driving experience is preferred.
- Must pass drug screen, background check, MVR review, and DOT physical.
- Valid DOT Medical Card required.
The physical demands described below are representative of those required to successfully perform the essential functions of this position. The driver must be able to sit for extended periods while operating a commercial motor vehicle and remain alert and focused. The role requires frequent climbing in and out of the truck, walking, bending, stooping, reaching, pushing, and pulling. Drivers must be able to lift, carry, and maneuver equipment and materials weighing up to approximately 50 pounds.
The position requires the ability to perform vehicle inspections, work in varying weather and lighting conditions, and safely operate equipment in an active transportation environment. Adequate vision, hearing, and communication abilities are required, and the driver must meet all DOT physical qualification standards.
