If so, we have the perfect opportunity for you! Ballantrae Golf Club is seeking dynamic and engaging Golf Starters and Hosts to join our team!
As a Golf Starter/Hosts, you will be the first point of contact for our valued members and guests, setting the tone for their golfing experience. You will play a crucial role in providing outstanding customer service, ensuring smooth operations, and creating a welcoming atmosphere at our golf club.
Golf Starters/Hosts are responsible for the orderly and timely flow of tee times. You will assist those players without a tee time in finding a group to play with. Golf Starters/Hosts ensure Ballantrae policies are followed with regards to dress code, age requirements, and cart rules of the day (ex. Cart Path Only). You will ensure players do not bring outside coolers or food & beverage onto the property.

- Provide courteous and friendly customer service to Members and Guests.
- Inform all players of course conditions, the cart rules of the day and the daily hole location.
- Keep an accurate record of all rounds played including cart numbers and starting times.
- Communicate with Golf Shop regarding flow of tee times and pace of play.
- Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures (including the defibrillator).
- Monitor Main Practice Tee to make sure that customers are staying in the designated teeing area.
- Keep the Main Practice Tee neat, clean and orderly.
- Must be able to work in a group or individually as needed.
- Keep the Starters Shack and the surrounding area neat, clean and orderly.
- Any additional tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional or Manager of the Day.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance while on duty and adhere to the dress code.

- Monitor pace of play. Inform a group (in a friendly and non-confrontational manner) if they are behind pace.
- If a group continues behind pace (or worsens) communicate with the Manager of the Day and they will address the situation.
- Maintain constant communication with the Golf Shop regarding pace of play.
- Oversee the golf course grounds. Pick up trash and broken tees. Straighten cart path stakes or directional signs.
- Assist Members and Guests with any problems that may arise on the golf course and inform the Golf Shop if needed.
- Maintain working knowledge of emergency procedures (including defibrillator).
- Any additional tasks assigned by the Head Golf Professional or Manager of the Day.
- Maintain a clean and neat appearance while on duty and adhere to the dress code.
Valid Alabama Driver's License is required.
ScheduleGolf Starters and Hosts must be able to work 2 days a week, morning/afternoons, and weekends.
Work EnvironmentThe work environment includes working outdoors in hot and cold temperatures.
