Description:

Leading Multi-State Commercial Roofing & Wall Panel Services Contractor seeks an entrepreneurial minded Commercial Construction Superintendent to add to our growing team. We operate in 11 states from 7 offices throughout the Gulf South. We need someone with strong people and project management skills who is serious about having a long-term career. Position Overview

As our Superintendent, your primary responsibility is for managing the projects assigned to you in your geographic area to ensure their execution is successful from start to finish. This includes defining a strategy to build the project. You will be responsible for managing 2-5 projects simultaneously, each project at a different stage of construction and a combined contract value between $1MM and $5MM and constructing these projects on time and within budget.

Position Responsibilities
  • Oversee all phases of a roofing and wall panel construction project from initial planning to successful and timely completion
  • Develop a strategy to build the project
  • Assess the readiness of the construction site for the construction of the roof or wall panels and coordinate with the General Contractor or Architect/Owner and the other trades that the work that precedes the roofing or wall panels is completed before initiating any work on the job site
  • Reviewing contract documents, plans, specifications, submittals, shop drawings, engineering calculations, and project notifications to successfully direct the construction of the project, identify errors and problem areas, and design solutions accordingly
  • Understanding project estimates and cost data to effectively direct and supervise the project to a profitable outcome
  • Defining the construction sequence and ensuring its implementation
  • Developing and following safety guidelines hand in hand with the Safety Manager, Project Manager, and Division Manager
  • Performing within the project budget and schedule
  • Supervising and ensuring compliance with the project specifications (quality, safety, progress, housekeeping, schedule, etc.)
  • Procuring miscellaneous materials and equipment (weekly update durations/removal) needed for the project
  • Preparing daily construction project reports (Daily Reports, JSAs, Inventory Reports, Checklists, Punch lists, etc.)
  • Developing weekly job progress schedules
  • Submitting weekly job progress reports and updates needed to do payroll and monthly billings
  • Representing the company with the General Contractor, the Owner, and the Architect concerning the project and attending project-related meetings (subcontractor meetings, OAC meetings, pre-installation meetings, etc.)
  • Contributing and actively participating in the company's culture (7 Habits, 4DX, etc.)
  • Communicating and reporting with your management team, peers, and internal and external clients in a timely manner
Position Compensation/Benefits
  • Base Salary $75-85K, depending on experience

Requirements:
Position Requirements
  • High school diploma required, completion of Vocational School or some college a plus
  • Must have 10+ years of experience working as a commercial construction Superintendent for a roofing contractor or General Contractor
  • Must have longevity with current/previous employers shown through stable job history
  • Ability to use the technology provided by the company (Plan Grid, One Drive share points, email, iPhone, iPad, etc.)
  • Professional ethics and leadership skills (interpersonal communication, approaching others tactfully, with respect and consideration regardless of their status or position, and reacting well under pressure)
  • Must not have felony convictions to be able to obtain clearances to enter educational buildings and federal facilities
  • Must have a clean driving record to be allowed to use company vehicles
  • Must pass a pre-employment drug test and background check
