Police Records Clerk

The City of Pekin is currently accepting applications for a second shift Police Records Clerk in the Police Records Department.

This position requires confidentiality, excellent customer service skills, the ability to work under supervision and with frequent interruption. This position will be the initial point of contact at the front counter of the Pekin Police Department and will require patience as well as a positive attitude to the citizens of Pekin. This position will be responsible for receiving and recording fine/ticket payments, completing FOIA requests, maintaining court calendars, screening and routing incoming calls, registering sex offenders, maintaining records for evidence and providing information regarding department services.

This position will report to the Police Records Manager.

This position's current hours are 2:00PM - 11:00PM Sunday through Thursday.

High school graduation, or equivalent, plus basic technical training, acquired on the job or through one year or less of technical or business school and two years of previous customer service experience; or an equivalent combination of training and experience which provides for an intermediate level of the knowledge and skills listed in the job description. Must pass an extensive background investigation.

Must have the ability to become LEADS certified within six (6) months of hiring.
