Duties & Responsibilities
  • Provide strategic and operational oversight for all laboratory services, ensuring accuracy, timeliness, and regulatory compliance.
  • Supervise laboratory staff, including scheduling, PTO approval, performance evaluations, and competency assessments.
  • Maintain compliance with CLEP, NYSDOH, CLIA, CAP standards; lead inspections, audits, and corrective actions.
  • Oversee laboratory licensure across all sites and ensure regulatory reporting requirements are met.
  • Direct implementation, validation, and troubleshooting of new tests, instrumentation, and processes in collaboration with the Laboratory Medical Director.
  • Maintain and update laboratory policies, SOPs, and quality control systems.
  • Manage equipment maintenance schedules, service contracts, and vendor relationships.
  • Conduct audits, track quality indicators, and implement corrective action plans.
What You'll Need
  • Current New York State Clinical Laboratory Technologist license (required)
  • Minimum of 8-10 years of progressive laboratory experience with demonstrated leadership responsibility
  • Prior laboratory management or directorship experience strongly preferred
  • In-depth knowledge of laboratory regulations and accreditation standards (CLEP, CLIA, CAP, NYSDOH)
