Bechtel Infrastructure’s Renewables & Clean Power business line is seeking qualified project controls professionals for a forthcoming combined cycle power plant project planned in Texas.

The project team will be based in Reston, VA; following contract award, selected candidates will relocate to designated project site in Pecos, TX.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of the re-emerging power business.

The role of the Start-up Planner requires good grounding in engineering work processes, planning and schedule analysis and EPC project management requirements. The Start-up Planner provides key support to the Start-up manager and delivery team project controls groups in collating, analyzing and reporting against start up, testing and punch list clearance progress, accurately reflecting deliverable achievements, forecasting future achievements and identifying potential opportunities and challenges.

Reporting to the Start-Up manager with a functional line of responsibility to the Planning Manager, working in collaboration with project controls and contracts and procurement, the Start-up Planner is an important team player in achieving our challenging goals.

The candidate for this position must be a self-starter, able to work independently while remaining a team player, and capable of bringing potential scenarios and solutions to the table for group evaluation and scenario studies. The experience and skill set of the candidate is to include the following:

• Establishes, maintains, and forecasts the schedule for all commissioning and startup activities
• Interfaces with the construction team regularly regarding system turnover packages, including scope, sequencing, and schedule
• Works closely with Engineering and Supply Chain to help prioritize and sequence their activities / deliverables to support testing and commissioning
• Develops, maintains, and forecasts commissioning and startup progress curves
• Develops critical path schedule reports and schedule performance metrics
• Determines critical-path activities for assigned discipline or specialty work activities supporting interdisciplinary requirements
• Identifies and reports activities that have a critical or potential impact on the schedule
• Monitors and validates subcontractor schedules
• Evaluates subcontractor schedules for required workarounds or potential schedule improvements

Typically requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 10-13 years of relevant experience or 14-17 years of relevant work experience.

Qualification in an engineering or construction discipline, with requisite project experience:

• At least
  10years ofrelevantexperienceinproject controlsplanning,construction and engineering.
• At least three years of experience on a project jobsite as a construction planner, preferably with at least one assignment as astart-upplanner, shutdown outageplanneror maintenance planner, ideally with experience in setting up testing reporting systems.

• Skilled in oral and written communication with demonstrated skill to present information to management and clients
