Job Summary

This position begins Fall 2026. The main responsibility is to enhance student learning within engineering, instructing courses from foundational to advanced levels with an emphasis on symbolic manipulation, critical thinking, and problem‑solving. The role also includes program leadership tasks such as student advisement, curriculum development, course scheduling, support for adjunct faculty, coordination with advisory committees, and guidance for student clubs.

Essential Functions
  • Instruction
    :
    Instructs engineering science courses, develops instructional materials, evaluates students’ comprehension, grades assignments, and provides academic support hours.
  • Program Leadership
    :
    Leads department efforts, recruits students, partners with universities, facilitates outreach, and supports engineering student clubs.
  • College Leadership
    :
    Serves on college and district committees, contributes to curriculum development, accreditation, strategic planning, and external partnerships.
  • Program Support
    :
    Ensures consistent learning experiences across sections, assists department chair with resource allocation, and manages lab equipment setup and maintenance.
Minimum Qualifications
  • Master’s degree or higher in the teaching field
  • OR Master’s degree or higher in any field with 18 graduate credit hours in the teaching field
Desired Qualifications
  • Recent engineering teaching experience at the college level, including introductory courses, in multiple modalities.
  • Experience working in the industry as an engineer.
  • Experience using interactive and innovative techniques to reach a diverse student population.
  • Experience providing academic leadership, program administration, and staff management.
  • Experience teaching Matlab and Solid Works.
  • Experience teaching Engineering Mechanics‑Statics, Dynamics, and Mechanics of Materials.
Special Working Conditions

The candidate may be required to work at multiple sites (Pecos and Williams campuses), teach days, evenings, and weekends, lift objects up to 25 lbs, and possess a valid Arizona Class D driver’s license. The candidate must meet district driving standards.
