The Spanish Faculty will provide instruction in Spanish courses in alignment with CGCC’s college goals and learner‑centered instructional philosophy. He or she will use multiple methods and modalities of instruction, assessment, and appropriate technologies to engage students and promote student success.
Essential FunctionsSupervises, instructs, evaluates, and monitors learning of students in classroom or online settings, using a variety of learning strategies such as cooperative learning, service learning, instructional technology, or other as appropriate. Reviews, revises, and develops curriculum. Is available on campus to support and mentor adjunct faculty. Maintains office hours to assist and advise students; actively participates in service to the college that contributes to the support of student learning, including involvement in district‑wide, campus, and departmental committees, activities, and initiatives.
Develops and enhances knowledge of subject matter taught and individual skills required to stay current with new trends and developments in the field, including attendance at conferences, courses, seminars, and/or workshops.
Master’s degree in the teaching field or a master’s degree in any field and 18 graduate credits in the teaching field.
Desired Qualifications- Minimum two years of experience teaching Spanish courses in various modalities, including online, hybrid, virtual, and face‑to‑face.
- Community college teaching experience.
- Native or near‑native fluency.
- Experience developing and teaching courses in Spanish for the professions.
- Experience using a variety of teaching methods, including active learning, collaborative learning, and the use of emerging technology.
- Experience with the Learning Management System Canvas.
