- Provide leadership to a customer-centric team of associates and accelerate seasonal tax business by managing a single H&R Block tax office.
- Serve as the front-line manager for leadership and development of tax office associates, delivering an outstanding client experience and achieving all office growth objectives.
- Act as a knowledgeable resource on tax topics and products for associates, helping them build confidence and competence.
- Lead daily team meetings, communicate essential information to tax office associates, and create associate work schedules with accurate timekeeping and overtime management.
- Train and coach associates to execute on Service Standards and recognize outstanding contributions.
- Collaborate with the District General Manager to recruit for tax office positions and develop office-level growth plans, including local partnerships and community involvement.
- Lead daily activities to ensure tax office work is completed to deadlines with quality standards and priorities, and resolve client scheduling conflicts as needed.
- Prepare tax returns, as required, and conduct timely performance reviews; partner with the Associate Relations Center to address performance concerns.
- Prior experience in a customer service, shift leader, or similar role; experience supervising or managing people.
- 2+ years as a Tax Professional (preferred) and successful completion of the H&R Block Tax Knowledge Assessment or Income Tax Course (if preparing tax returns).
- Annual continuing education and ability to meet IRS and applicable state requirements.
- Computer proficiency with MS Office and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
