Learning Technology Administrator

Overview

Primary Purpose
To oversee and manage an institution's learning management system (LMS) Canvas, while providing expertise, support, and training necessary for all end-users to achieve success.

• Education: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited university
• Valid Texas teaching certificate with required endorsements for subject and level assigned, preferred
• Master’s degree, with emphasis in instructional technology, preferred
• Minimum Of Two Years Teaching Experience, Preferred
• School district experience preferred

• Experience designing and developing courses using an LMS and related tools
• Knowledge and demonstrable, practical application of instructional design methodologies and best practices
• Demonstrable technical troubleshooting and problem-solving skills with regard to the LMS
• Effective adult training skills
• Advanced knowledge of curriculum development
• Sound organizational, interpersonal and communications skills
• Ability to work as part of a team
• Ability to learn new concepts in a short amount of time
• Exhibits leadership skills

• Tools/Equipment Used: Standard office equipment, including personal computer and peripherals
• Posture: Prolonged sitting; occasional bending/stooping, pushing/pulling, and twisting
• Motion: Repetitive hand motions including frequent keyboarding and use of mouse; occasional reaching
• Lifting: Occasional light lifting and carrying (15-45 pounds)
• Environment: May work prolonged or irregular hours; frequent district wide travel; occasional statewide travel and out-of-state travel
• Mental Demands: Work with frequent interruptions, maintain emotional control under stress
• Pay Grade: AE104
• Days/Contract Status: 215/Exempt-Non-Contract
