Position: (USA) Coach/Ops Mgr Trainee

Overview

Position Summary:

Leads and develops teams effectively by teaching, training, actively listening to associates, touring stores, and providing feedback. Communicates and collaborates with all levels of associates regarding store operations, technology initiatives, merchandising, and company direction. Introduces and leads company change efforts, providing clear expectations and guidance to implement business solutions and communicating business objectives to teams. Models and demonstrates exceptional customer service standards by following and demonstrating the One Best Way service model, managing and supporting customer service initiatives, and addressing community needs.

Develops and implements action plans to correct deficiencies and provides process improvement leadership to ensure a high-quality customer experience.

Responsibilities
  • Drive financial performance and sales by reviewing and evaluating PL (Profit & Loss) statements, budgeting, forecasting, and controlling expenses in the designated store area.
  • Ensure effective merchandise presentation, seasonal transitions, inventory flow, and operational processes; develop and implement action plans to mitigate shrink and achieve sales and profit goals.
  • Provide supervision and development opportunities for hourly associates by hiring, training, mentoring, assigning duties, setting clear expectations, recognizing associates, and promoting a belonging mindset in the workplace.
  • Recruit and develop qualified associates to meet staffing needs and support company growth potential.
  • Coordinate and oversee job-related activities by building relationships with key stakeholders, supporting plans and initiatives to meet customer and business needs, and measuring progress toward results.
  • Ensure compliance with company policies and procedures and support the company mission, values, and ethics by implementing related action plans and applying the Open Door Policy.
  • Foster a culture of belonging, integrity, and customer focus by modeling Walmart values, treating associates with respect, and driving continuous improvement and change management.
Qualifications
  • Minimum Qualifications
  • 2 years of college; OR 1 year of retail experience and 1 year of supervisory experience; OR 2 years of general work experience and 1 year of supervisory experience.
  • For facilities selling firearms, successful completion of a firearms-specific criminal background check and firearms training may be required.
  • Associates must attend and complete all job-required trainings and assessments; as permitted by law, provide evidence of full vaccination or obtain a medical/religious accommodation.
  • For firearms or eligibility requirements, comply with state-specific regulations as applicable.
  • Preferred Qualifications
  • Bachelor of Science in Business Management and Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University;
    Certificate of Completion in People and Business Leadership through Live Better U and Bellevue University.
  • Experience supervising 5+ direct reports with responsibilities including performance management, mentoring, hiring, and firing.

Notes

The hourly wage range for this position is $31.25 - $38.46. The actual hourly rate will meet or exceed the applicable minimum wage.
