Overview
Retail Store Management Trainee - 3278 at Capital Pawn. This role is designed for external retail assistant managers and store managers interested in fast-tracking into Store Management. Requires a minimum of 1 year retail management experience. Pay rate: $15.00 to $22.40 per hour.
Position SummaryWe are seeking a Store Manager Trainee with a minimum of six (6+) months of Store Management experience. A Store Manager Trainee is accountable for day-to-day operations, promoting a positive environment, partnering with the Store Manager to lead and develop store employees, recruit and retain top talent, maximize financial goals, and manage Customer Relations / Customer Satisfaction. This position sets the tone for a customer-centric environment.
The role includes analyzing store financial statements to ensure goals are met; participate in asset protection, and target new customer acquisitions. Employees work with jewelry, general merchandise, tools, electronics, firearms (in FFL locations), etc. Pay is hourly plus potential commission and a store performance bonus. Actual pay depends on location, qualifications, and experience.
- Facilitate a customer-centric environment by engaging customers professionally and addressing issues quickly.
- Monitor and assist in training Pawnbrokers to meet First Cash standards.
- Recruit top talent by sourcing candidates through prescribed channels.
- Open and close the store, including cash drawer and merchandise controls to protect assets.
- Maintain asset protection through inventory control and safety procedures.
- Administer store processes including inventory, loan management, merchandising, store systems, and reporting.
- Evaluate store financial statements and drive profitability through communication and goal setting.
- Ensure operating standards meet or exceed First Cash standards.
- Monitor loan qualification and buying processes to maintain value and integrity of loans.
- Complete assigned tasks and training for self-development as requested.
- Communicate clearly to ensure employees understand the store’s mission and profit objectives.
- Remain up-to-date on product knowledge.
- The Assistant Store Manager acts as manager on duty in the absence of the Store Manager.
- Other related duties as assigned.
- Must be willing and able to lift/carry up to 50 pounds.
- Must be willing and able to stand, walk, and perform duties for extended periods; comply with all laws; climbing, pushing, pulling as required.
- Demonstrated ability to effectively supervise others.
- Ability to work with firearms and become firearms certified.
- May be asked to assist customers outside the building or retrieve products in exterior storage areas.
- Minimum Age: 18 years old
- High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience
- Must be able to work at multiple locations as needed.
- Flexible retail schedule, including weekends and holidays.
- Store Manager Trainee will work 45+ hours a week; hours are not guaranteed.
- Computer literate; able to operate POS systems and common office machines.
- Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment; detail-oriented with strong organizational skills.
- Analytical skills; cash handling experience required.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision; excellent work ethic and strong business sense.
