Hourly Rate: $40.00 - $50.00/Per Hour (Based on Documented Experience, Qualifications and Market Data)

The Correctional Charge Nurse oversees the daily clinical activities on the treatment floor. Supervises other RNs, LPNs, and PCTs to ensure safe, quality, efficient care is being delivered. Responsible for delegating daily assignments to ensure the safe, efficient, and quality care of the patients.
This dialysis unit is in:
- Pearl, MS within Central Mississippi Correctional Facility
This dialysis unit operates:
- Monday/Wednesday/Friday (5:00 am to 7:00 pm)
As in any setting, this involves teamwork and coordinating care with the healthcare team. In addition to the healthcare team, you are also required to maintain strong relationships, regular communication, and visibility with clients (site Managed Healthcare, DOC/BOP, etc.)
Minimum QualificationsEducation and Experience
- Graduation from an accredited nursing school or equivalent
- Current RN License for Mississippi & current CPR certification (or within three months of hire).
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and communicate in English.
- One year of Hemodialysis RN experience is required (two to three years of experience preferred). Experience must be within the past two years
Required Skills and Competencies
- Ability to read, write, speak, understand, and satisfactorily communicate in English
- Strong technical/computer proficiency with laptops, tablets, Outlook, Excel, PowerPoint, Word, SharePoint, etc.
- Oversees the daily clinical activity on the treatment floor. Reports to and works closely with the unit leader.
- Delegates daily assignments to all staff on the treatment floor to ensure proper, safe, efficient, and quality treatment and care of patients.
- Performs thorough patient assessments as evidenced by documentation and feedback to the unit leader and/or nephrologist as needed.
- Recognizes changes in patient status while on dialysis and makes necessary adjustments to treatment. Appropriately responds to all emergencies, notifies the nephrologist when necessary and seeks direction, and obtains orders.
- Draws upon professional nursing knowledge to set appropriate priorities for patient care. Consistently reviews and evaluates priorities as changes occur and conveys these priorities to appropriate staff members.
- Develops implements and evaluates appropriate plan of care for patients based upon patient health status, co-morbidities, current lab results, and response to treatment. Utilizes the team approach by involving the patient, nurses, technicians, nephrologist(s) social worker, and dietitian as appropriate and consistent with institutional policy.
- Delegates CMPA and POC assignments to other nurses as needed.
- Ensures all forms and patient documents are completed in a timely manner.
- Demonstrates excellent communication skills in a clear, concise, and accurate manner.
- Knows and follows all Rendevor Dialysis policies and procedures.
- Utilizes resources to improve skills, knowledge, and practice to assure continuous quality patient care.
