Senior Accountant

Job Description

• Assist Accounting Manager and Controller with day-to-day accounting activities, including general ledger, financial reporting, product costing, and results analysis.
• Assist in monitoring, analyzing, preparing and reporting financial performance.
• Prepare and post journal entries and account reconciliations
• Assist with month-end and year-end closing processes
• Maintain and analyze general ledger accounts, fixed assets and inventory-related accounts
• Support accounts payable and receivable functions as needed
• Assist with financial statement preparation and reporting
• Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards
• Prepare and file sales and use tax
• Assist with general ledger entries and reconciling and balancing accounts.
• Perform additional relevant duties as assigned.

• Bachelor Degree or equivalent; preferably in Accounting, Finance or other closely related field.
• 5-10 years of progressive accounting experience (public or private accounting).
• Knowledge of accounting/auditing principles and practices.
• Strong understanding of GAAP and accounting best practices.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a high volume, fast-paced environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills
• Proficiency with Microsoft Excel and accounting software
• Excellent communication and problem-solving skills
• Expert technology and computer skills, with advanced knowledge of Excel.

• Typical office environment utilizing computers, telephones and other office equipment.
• Frequently sit for long periods.
