Overview
The Senior Corporate Enterprise Network Engineer performs a variety of network engineering tasks including planning, design, implementation, testing, and documentation to support DISN/NIPR/SIPR and DLA network environments.
Responsibilities- Works under general supervision developing the requirements to manage a task from inception to conclusion
- Expert knowledge of the following protocols and services for both IPv4 and IPv6
- OSPF, Multi-Protocol BGP, MPLS (L2
VPN, L3
VPN, VPWS, TE, CSC), Multicast (MSDP, PIM-SM, PIM-SSM, Multicast VPN, QoS, VPN Routing and Forwarding and Stateless Firewall Filters) - Develop required specifications for simple to moderately complex problems
- Expertise with current and anticipated network equipment; COTS 10 Gigabit Ethernet WAN and associated software and hardware equipment
- Coordinate with the Task Order PM, COTRs and government user representatives to ensure accurate solutions and user satisfaction on technical matters
- Plan, perform, and document laboratory assessments of hardware and software for both the classified and unclassified DISN Services to ensure proper connectivity and operations between the DLA WAN, the DLA's NOC, and DISA's NOCs
- Coordinate with the government customer to create a Technology Assessment Plan (TAP) to include the objectives, scope, equipment and configurations, technical approach, procedures, schedules, and roles and responsibilities required to complete the WAN technology refresh and upgrades
- Generate and update design drawings
- Prepare After Action Reports (AAR) that document the approach taken, results, recommendations and supporting rationale
- Identify new and emerging network capabilities as well as developing product evaluation and selection criteria
- Produce formal documentation of recommendations for executive briefings
- Ensure interoperability between NIPR, SIPR and DISN network equipment and services
- Planning and tracking for implementation tasks
- Create necessary supporting configuration artifacts such as network maps, detailed designs, test plans, operations readiness test reports, device configurations, and maintenance processes and procedures
- Knowledge and understanding of the following technologies:
Wireless Technologies; IPv6 in concert with NIPR & SIPR transition;
Network Operations including network computer defense and situational awareness; VOIP considering DISA Switched Network (DSN) efforts;
Digital Streaming Video - Coordinate, plan and implement technology refreshes and upgrades to NIPR systems and equipment
- Identify and evaluate emerging standards as they relate to the NIPR & SIPR and DLA/DOD mandates
- Must have Secret Clearance with IT-I eligibility
- Must have Active CCNP Enterprise
- Must have or be able to obtain Check Point Certified Security Administrator (CCSA) or higher certification;
Check Point Certified Security Expert (CCSE) within 60 days after start - Must have one of the following DoD 8570 Baseline IAT Level III certifications: CASP+ CE, CCNP Security, CISA, CISSP (or Associate), GCED, GCIH
- Minimum five (5) years of progressive Information Technology (IT) experience in the following:
Deployment of WAN networks;
Deployment of a separate Pulse Secure Remote Access VPN architecture; provide tier II/III troubleshooting support; support the design and implementation of WAN equipment on the NIPR and SIPR; technology refreshes and upgrades; wireless technologies; IPv6 transition and transition;
Tier III network troubleshooting; provide network engineering services to support the full WAN lifecycle including design, implementation, installation, testing and transition to sustainment; analysis of hardware, hardware configuration, security policy, network management, network protocols and security solutions in support of network functions related to the interoperability of the LAN, WAN (NIPR & SIPR) and DISN
