The purpose of the Technical Sales Associate is to manage bid lists, secure plans and specifications, generate take-offs and project estimates, provide technical sales support to the Outside Sales team and contractors, and manage projects to ensure profit targets are obtained.

• Obtain and review project plans and specifications to determine the specific products and services to be included in a binding estimate per established guidelines.
• Obtain special quotations from manufacturers as required for products while maintaining competitive pricing levels to maximize gross margins.
• Coordinate prior approval requests with the engineering services department.
• Populate the job tracking system with pertinent information including basis of design info and quote values.
• Prepare complete and accurate engineering submittals for products being ordered.
• Answer application and technical questions as well as general customer service questions from mechanical contractors.
• Prepare and generate orders to manufacturers for products on awarded projects.
• Manage logistics to ensure product arrives at the job site when required.
• Maintain proper margin levels and job accuracy to ensure projects are billed correctly.
• Partner with the Outside Sales Force to keep them informed about product availability, shipping schedules, and overall job status.
• Maintain regular, punctual attendance and comply with all company policies and procedures.

• Bachelor’s Degree preferred or equivalent work experience
• Commercial HVAC project management experience preferred
• Proficient in Outlook, Word, and Excel and ability to learn job‑specific software
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills

• 5% travel to branches and other operating companies, including overnight stays; travel to industry conferences and training with some extended stay required.
