In-House Counsel | Construction Background Required

Salary $125,000 - $135,000 per year

As In-House Counsel, you will work closely with leadership, project teams, and external partners to influence risk management strategy and strengthen the company’s contractual frameworks. • Draft, review, and negotiate a wide range of construction-related agreements, including subcontractor agreements, prime contracts, vendor agreements, NDAs, and professional service contracts
• Advise project teams on risk mitigation, contract compliance, claims strategy, and dispute avoidance
• Support the development and refinement of contract templates, policies, and internal legal workflows
• Provide guidance regarding regulatory requirements, licensing, employment matters, insurance issues, and general corporate governance
• Coordinate with outside counsel as needed for litigation, claims, or specialized legal issues
• Conduct training sessions on contract management and legal best practices for internal stakeholders

• J.D. from an accredited law school and active bar membership
• 5+ years of legal experience, preferably with a strong focus on construction law, commercial contracting, or related transactional work
• Extensive experience reviewing, drafting, and negotiating construction contracts
• Solid understanding of construction industry processes, project delivery methods, and risk management principles
• Ability to translate complex legal concepts into practical guidance for non-legal team members
• Strong interpersonal skills, with a collaborative approach suited to working with field teams, executives, and external partners
• Highly organized, detail-oriented, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-moving environment
