This position blends deep technical expertise with strategic leadership. You’ll serve as a subject matter expert across environmental compliance programs, lead project execution, support business development, and act as a trusted advisor to clients and regulatory agencies.

What You’ll Do
  • Lead and oversee environmental engineering activities to ensure regulatory compliance, technical quality, and operational efficiency.
  • Serve as the primary environmental contact for project managers, clients, contractors, and regulatory agencies.
  • Support business development efforts by preparing proposals, developing technical scopes and labor estimates, and participating in client presentations and strategic planning.
  • Identify and pursue new revenue opportunities while strengthening and maintaining client relationships.
  • Prepare, review, and oversee technical deliverables including reports, permit applications, regulatory submittals, and site closure documentation.
  • Manage environmental compliance programs related to air quality, water, industrial and construction stormwater, hazardous and solid waste, underground storage tanks, and spill prevention and response.
  • Develop and oversee SPCC Plans, Facility Response Plans (FRPs), and other compliance documents in accordance with 40 CFR Part 112.
  • Conduct inspections, drills, and exercises to support compliance at commercial and military fuel storage facilities.
  • Prepare industrial Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans (SWPPPs) for bulk fuel storage facilities.
  • Develop and implement work plans related to the demolition, removal, and disposal of Aqueous Film-Forming Foam (AFFF) fire protection systems.
  • Provide mentorship and technical guidance to junior staff, fostering professional growth and adherence to environmental standards.
  • Perform QA/QC reviews and implement continuous improvement strategies across projects and teams.
  • Oversee subconsultants and contractors during field activities such as environmental sampling, waste management, and construction oversight.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor’s degree in Environmental Engineering, Environmental Science, or a related field (or equivalent combination of education, training, and experience).
  • Minimum of 10 years of relevant environmental engineering experience, including at least 5 in a lead or senior role.
  • Strong working knowledge of environmental regulations, standards, and best practices, particularly within aviation or fuel-related environments.
  • Demonstrated leadership, mentoring, and team-building capabilities.
  • Excellent organizational, project management, and prioritization skills.
  • Exceptional written and verbal communication skills, including strong client-facing abilities.
  • Strategic thinker with the ability to align technical execution to business and organizational goals.
  • Professional Engineer (PE) licensure preferred.
